Theme Meeting #2: DeepTech

On the 15th of September Calista hosted Deal Meeting of the Calista Sourcing Club #2, with focus on DeepTech, under the leadership of our CEO, Rajaa Mekouar and intervention from Adèle Schneider, our PE due diligence expert.

During this session we had the opportunity to interact with expert investors in the field:

Yves Matton, Co-Founder and General Manager at TechnoFounders.

Yves is a graduate of the École Polytechnique and MIT(Boston). He worked for 3 years as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company. He then co-founded Local Motion France, a startup specializing in car-sharing solutions. Following the acquisition of Local Motion by the Avis/Zipcar group, he joined the startup studio TechnoFounders as a founding partner. He has participated in the development of several technology startups as technical director, and is also the CEO of ION-X.

Bogdan Gogulan, CEO & Managing Partner at NewSpace Capital.

Bogdan Gogulan has 20 years of experience in finance, product and business development. Before initiating NewSpace Capital he had accumulated a unique combination of cross-border experience in communication, security and defense industries. He served as VP of international operations and business development for AT Communication (Switzerland), Defendec (Baltics) and Katmerciler (Turkey), managing breakthrough projects for security and defense agencies in the Middle East and Central Asia. For years, he managed alignment and cooperation with UN agencies (BOMCA/UNDP, BOMNAF, UNODC, UNHCR, IOM) and security organizations (NATO, OSCE, ISAF).

Calista Team opened the session with an overview of the sector, Yves Matton presented Ion-X start-up and Bogdan Gogulan provided additional knowledge of the space industry and NewSpace Capital investments.
