On the 13th of October Calista hosted a Sourcing Club meeting dedicated to Investing in growth SMEs across Europe. The meeting took place at Calista office with an opportunity to join online for those who could not be with us at our premises.

We discussed how growth-oriented companies in Europe represent a high-potential investment segment, while presenting challenges that require specific expertise. We discussed the best models of investments to tackle the opportunity in this sector.

Our guests were Hanspeter Bader and Stephan Seissl, co-founders of Yana Investment Partners, a co-investment platform founded in 2018.

Hanspeter Bader

Hanspeter has over 25 years of experience in investing in private equity and working closely with deal sponsors. He co-founded Yana Investment Partners with Stephan Seissl in 2018. Prior to this, he built and lead the private equity business of Unigestion for 16 years. He was responsible for investments of EUR 3.5 billion in over 190 private equity transactions across direct (co)-investments, secondary investments and fund investments. Prior to this, he was the CFO of UBS Capital Europe, UBS’s direct investment arm in London. Hanspeter holds a Ph.D in Finance from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and is a CFA Charter holder.

 

Stephan Seissl

Stephan Seissl

Stephan has 12 years of experience in direct private equity investing including lead transactions, minority investments and co-investments. Prior to co-founding Yana Investment Partners in 2018, he spent 10 years at Partners Group, where he invested over EUR 400min European buyout transactions. He led numerous due diligence processes and held several board seats in Partners Group’s portfolio companies. Stephan has a M.A. in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland).
